A potentially well-executed thriller from South Korea?
A Company Man is the story of an assassin (So Ji-sub) who doesn’t complete one mission. Letting his emotions take over, he soon becomes the target of another assassin.
Alright, it’s clearly not the most inspiring/innovative plot, but after watching the trailer few things seem to be quite intriguing.
First of all, the visual narrative ideas from director Lim Sang-yoon. Like, the way to establish the character, the fact he looks like any other white-collar workers, with a daily routine – look at the shot around 0’23, the man is as tall as the building!
Secondly, the story is simple, and it features action, romance, betrayal, survival… Many ways to keep the audience involved in the film? If handled correctly, that might be at least entertaining. Wait & see?
A Company Man will be released in South Korea on October 18, 2012.
