A mystery detective thriller starring Nicholas Tse & Lau Ching-wan.
Set during the warlord era, The Bullet Vanishes follows two detectives investigating bizarre murders, where the victims have been shot, yet there’s no bullet to be found. All the clues indicate that the murderer is… a young woman, that was killed 6 months before.
The film is produced by Derek Yee, and as usual with him, it’s clearly a story with twists where things aren’t what they look like.
As a producer and director as well, Yee’s recent films tend to be over-the-top, missing the right balance between drama/comedy and twists – Overheard 2 is too serious for its own good, The Great Magician is a complete mess.
Despite all that, let’s keep our fingers crossed? Properly executed, the plot could be entertaining & the lead cast is intriguing enough. Knowing the film is directed by Law Chi-Leung, an average HK filmmaker.
The release date for The Bullet Vanishes hasn’t been announced yet.
