The Burmese Harp, Actor’s Revenge… Director Kon Ichikawa is one of the greatest classic japanese director, who is yet to be fully discovered in the West. That’s why, it’s always cool to read/learn something about that kind of director. In 2004, Shunji Iwai paid his tribute with “Kon Ichikawa’s Story“, a film about Ichikawa’s life.

In this interview, Kon Ichikawa talks about the way he worked with his scriptwriter, with authors like Mishima. We learn Ichikawa’s favorite of his own films is Enjo, he also gives his thoughts on several films, the new wave… Good reading!
